SketchFest Seattle presents
The 6th Annual Comedy Film Challenge
The 6th Time’s The Charm
For the last half-dozen years, SketchFest Seattle has been presenting the funniest in independent comedy films from around the country. Our 2013 Film Challenge returns to the hallowed halls of Seattle’s Central Cinema on Saturday, September 21st at 7pm.
Two awards will be presented: The Audience Award, voted on by that night’s audience; and the Juried Award, voted on by three of Seattle’s comedy luminaries.
Each award includes a $100 prize!
To a filmmaker, a hundred bucks isn’t much. But to a sketch comedian, that’s a payday!
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY FILM?
Send your film to film@sketchfest.org with the subject heading “2013 Film Challenge.” Please include your name, your group’s name (if any), and where you’re from.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS FRIDAY, AUGUST 23RD, 2013.
Below are the submission guidelines. If you have any questions, send them to film@sketchfest.org.
- ONLINE ONLY
First round videos can only be accepted from online sources. We cannot accept VHS, DVD or other hard-copy formatted media. If your video is selected for the live show, a higher quality video will be requested. Note: There is NO application fee for the Comedy Film Challenge! - LENGTH
Please limit your videos to under seven minutes, but don’t feel like you need to use the whole seven. A maximum length of three minutes is a good rule of thumb. - TIMELINESS
We’re sure your old YouTube videos are great, but we’d like to see something that hasn’t been in people’s email inboxes already.
- ONLY THE BEST
We simply don’t have time to watch all of the films produced by everyone who wants to submit, so we ask that any group, production company or individual (who are not the individual members of a group or production company) submit only their best three videos. - MUST BE YOUR OWN
By sending us your video, you are verifying that the content of the video is owned by you and/or that you have all necessary rights to distribute that video. Additionally, by sending us your video you give us permission to use it for live or promotional purposes in perpetuity. The work remains your property, and we will not redistribute your video. - USE YOUR JUDGEMENT
Anything we deem inappropriate or obscene will not be considered. We’re not talking about simple four-letter words here, but if you can’t post it on YouTube, we can’t show it at the fest. - BE FUNNY
Weird is good. Witty is gooderer. Let’s see that imagination at work
