Sketch comedy appeals to a diverse audience. SketchFest’s audience base has increased by over five times its original size in 1999. Sketch comedy is a haven for social and political commentary bridging all the performing arts disciplines. Some of the most innovative performances in contemporary theater are coming from these small groups of multi-talented artists who are actors, musicians, dancers, writers and directors specializing in original comedy. Our festival was the first in North America to be solely dedicated to sketch comedy and our organization has been a key player in the development of sketch comedy festivals in Chicago, San Francisco and Vancouver B.C.
